Have you seen the Dark Knight? (Don’t worry, this isn’t a spoiler or an analysis of the movie, which I loved by the way.) Being based in Chicago, it was cool to see the movie being filmed around the city — some scenes were shot right next door to the ParkWhiz HQ. Watching the movie was surreal, as I picked out the many buildings of Gotham that I once resided or worked in the past 10 years. One of the scenes even passed by the Civic Opera House, capturing one of the city’s many Lyric banners that hang high above the light posts.

Was this a symbolic gesture by the producers or just a random occurrence? Personally, I think the Lyric banner’s inclusion was brilliant imagery. But then again, I was never good at interpreting authors’ meaning (see my English high school paper on Moby Dick). I guess I could always refer to my junior high Cliff Notes to be sure…
