Historic night in Chicago
November 5th, 2008by Aashish Dalal, Chief Whiz
Regardless if you are a McCain, Obama, or even Nadar supporter, last night was a historic and monumental day across the world and in American history. Needless to say, the buzz in Chicago, headquarters to ParkWhiz, was palpable.
The rally in Grant Park, just a few blocks from our old headquarter address was packed with a reported 1 million people in attendance. While I wasn’t one of the fortunate with tickets to the historic event, it was pretty awesome witnessing what unfolded just a few blocks from our old headquarters. In fact, President-elect Obama and VP Biden stayed at the Hyatt and Fairmont Hotel both of which we could see into from the windows of our offices (Obama’s headquarters was kitty corner to us throughout his campaign).
Yesterday was also a crazy day for ParkWhiz, highlighted by having to refund customers who reserved valet parking in the city, due to street closures for the rally. While we apologized to those patrons, most were quite understanding of the situation and we thank them for that. Even Governor Rod Blagojevich commented on ABC local news that parking for the rally was really hard to find. Insert plug.
All in all, a very entertaining, energy packed day. One that I won’t forget as long as I live.
