Once every four years the best soccer teams in the world get together to put on, in my opinion, the greatest sports event ever. Join in with thousands of soccer fans on Saturday at San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza to watch the opening weekend’s matches. Columbia v. Greece, Uruguay v. Costa Rica, England v. Italy.

Celebrate this weekend in San Francisco’s Little Italy. Grub, free tunes, and trinkets galore; what’s not to love? The North Beach Festival takes place on Grant Avenue between Columbus and Filbert; Columbus Avenue between Broadway and Green; and Vallejo and Green Streets between Grant Avenue and Columbus.

Experience a theatrical event like none before at New York’s Astor Place Theatre. Blue Man Group is the perfect high energy show for any age. Get excited because crowd participation fuels the energy of the Blue Man Group. There is not a bad seat in the house, but the closer you get, the more exciting the show becomes.

As part of the Northside Festival the Music Hall of Williamsburg presents Dan Croll. Dan Croll uses folk type lyrics and the idea of basic chord progression and combines them with polyphonic overlayed voices and electronic and African beats. It’s a lot of sound from one guy. This concert if for those 18 and over.

Every Father’s Day Brooklyners come together for Park Slope’s 7th Heaven Fest. Check out the variety of vendors from local artists of every medium and a plethora of obscure knick-knacks and trinkets. This weekend should be nice and sunny, so don’t miss out. The festival takes place on Seventh Avenue between Flatbush Avenue and 18th Street.
Get whisked away to the 1960 with the smooth sounds of Barry Gordy’s Motown. This musical, featuring songs from great performers such as; Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, and many more. Revel in the language of the performers that changed the face and sound of American music.

Old Town’s Wells Street Art Fest is 40 years and still going strong. Artworks for days. 2-D, 3-D, sculpture, glasswork; you name it, this festival has it. There are plenty of bands showcased this year as well, including a Rolling Stones and a Beatles tribute band. The fest takes place on Wells St, between North Ave and Division St.

Wrigleyville’s premier concert venue presents the indies sensation MS MR. This man/woman duo provides haunting vocals (the current indie trend) and honest lyrics backed by driving drum beats and simple piano progressions.
